As humans we go through a lot of suffering, sometimes you may feel like you can stand it anymore. That’s normal. We all experience negative feelings, and we think that we are alone in this, but that’s not the truth. Therefore, we will learn in this article about the best surah to read for happy life.
What are the best surahs for a happy life?
If you’re feeling down for losing someone you love or for going through hardships and you can’t tell anyone about, you don’t need to. Here are the Quranic surahs that will ease your heart and make you feel happy and have peace of mind.
1- Surah Yusuf.
The surah that was revealed to the holy prophet after the year of sorrows to comfort him, is surah Yusuf. It mentions the story of the prophet Yusuf. This surah carries a lot of lessons that we can learn from. We can use it to deal with and overcome our life’s problems.
Allah can make you live a happy life no matter how much you’re struggling in your life right now. Allah can take it all away in a moment. From this surah, we can see how the prophet Yusuf had faith in Allah no matter what happened to him and how Allah responded to his prayers.
We also learn from it to be patient when going through hardships that seem impossible to overcome. We saw how Yaqoob remained patient and had faith in Allah that he would bring back his son Yusuf to him. Even though he saw the shirt with blood stains on it and his sons told him that Yusuf is dead.
Allah said in the holy Quran:
“And they brought upon his shirt false blood. [Jacob] said, “Rather, your souls have enticed you to something, so patience is most fitting. And Allah is the one sought for help against that which you describe.” (12:18)
When people told him that what his doing is wrong and that he was questioning Allah’s well he said to them that he is only talking to Allah and grieving.
Allah said in the holy Quran:
“He said, ‘I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah, and I know from Allah that which you do not know. O my sons, go and find out about Joseph and his brother and despair, not of relief from Allah. Indeed, no one despairs of relief from Allah except the disbelieving people.’”
When we face situations and problems that seem like we can’t get out of, we should always have faith in Allah like the prophet Yaqoob did. No matter how life seems hard Allah is always therefore us, we only need to have patience.
The story of Prophet Yusuf
Prophet Yusuf himself went through a lot. His brothers left him in a well. A group of people found him and sold him. Then, he was imprisoned for something he didn’t do.
But no matter what happened to him he didn’t lose his faith in Allah. Instead, he kept praying and had faith that Allah will get him out of all of this.
Allah said:
“And he raised his parents upon the throne, and they bowed to him in prostration. And he said, ‘O my father, this is the explanation of my vision of before. My Lord has made it a reality. And He was certainly good to me when He took me out of prison and brought you [here] from bedouin life after Satan had induced [estrangement] between me and my brothers. Indeed, my Lord is Subtle in what He wills. Indeed, it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise.’”
When prophet Yusuf was in prison, he met two people whom he helped to understand the meaning of the dreams they are having. And he knew that one of them will get free so he asked for his help.
Allah said in the Holy Qur’an:
“And he said to the one whom he knew would go free, “Mention me before your master.” But Satan made him forget the mention [to] his master, and Joseph remained in prison several years.” (12:42)
Even though the man forgot him, he didn’t lose his faith in Allah. That is what we should all do, to put our faith in Allah and be patient, that is the secret to a happy life.
Reading this surah makes a person feel peace of mind and erases all his/her worries, therefore it is one of the best surahs for happy life.
2- Surah Duha.
It’s the surah number 93 with only 11 verses, that have the power to give anyone who reads it hope.
This surah was revealed to the prophet when he was going through depression, as the revelation stopped for 6 months and he thought that he did something wrong that made Allah angry with him. He was losing hope and his people kept making fun of him, even the believers started to question themselves. But one day this surah was revealed to the prophet to comfort him and the believers.
The prophet loved this surah and it remained the closest surah to the prophet (peace and blessing be upon him).
What do we learn from this surah? We learn that life is nothing but a test and that the afterlife is what will last forever.
Allah said in the Holy Qur’an:
“And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life].” (93:4)
This verse shows us that the afterlife is much better than the life we live now. So when you start to feel depressed and think that you are over with this life remember that it is only a test that you must pass to go to heaven. The life we live now is temporary and it’s normal to faith hardships and loss that’s the nature of life.
But remember, the afterlife is filled with everything that you could ever dream of, and every time you feel depressed or if you start losing hope remind yourself of that. That’s why Allah reminds the Prophet (peace and blessing be upon him) that this life is temporary and that the afterlife is much better.
“And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied” (93:5)
This verse shows the prophet that what he will have in the afterlife will satisfy him, showing us all that we will be rewarded in the afterlife for having faith in Allah and never losing hope no matter what happens in this life.
To live a happy life, we should understand that life is not but a test and that we should do our best to go to heaven. No matter how hard this life gets we will be rewarded, and the reward will be something that is more than we could ever dream of.
3- Surah Al-Inshirah.
It’s the surah number 94 with only eight verses yet it carries hope and comfort to one’s heart. It was revealed to the holy prophet when he was going through a lot of hardships to comfort him. This surah tells us to turn to Allah and never give in to sadness and distress, whenever there’s darkness, the light will come to erase it all. Reading this surah when feeling anxiety will relieve you and give you peace of mind.
Allah says in the holy Quran:
“For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.” (Quran 94:5-6)
This verse was repeated twice to emphasize that no matter how hard life gets and how much we suffer it will all go away. Therefore, this surah is one of the best surahs for a happy life, as it gives us hope and makes us feel happy.
