  • ثُمَّ نَظَرَ

    Then looked he,
  • ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ
    22
    Then frowned he and showed displeasure.
  • ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ

    Then turned he away in pride
  • فَقَالَ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌۭ يُؤْثَرُ
    24
    And said: This is naught else than magic from of old;
  • إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا قَوْلُ ٱلْبَشَرِ
    25
    This is naught else than speech of mortal man.
  • سَأُصْلِيهِ سَقَرَ
    26
    Him shall I fling unto the burning.
  • وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سَقَرُ
    27
    - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! -
  • لَا تُبْقِى وَلَا تَذَرُ
    28
    It leaveth naught; it spareth naught
  • لَوَّاحَةٌۭ لِّلْبَشَرِ
    29
    It shrivelleth the man.
  • عَلَيْهَا تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ

    Above it are nineteen.
